أحبطت الأجهزة الأمنية بولاية البحر الأحمر محاولة لتهريب «52» مواطناً بينهم «18» أجنبياً للمملكة العربية السعودية كان يجري الترتيب لتهريبهم من جنوب ميناء سواكن. وكشفت مصادر مطلعة تحدثت لـ«الأهرام اليوم» أن الأجهزة الأمنية حصلت على معلومات حول عصابة لتهريب البشر اتفقت مع مهاجرين غير شرعيين للتسلل بهم للمملكة السعودية ونفذت الأجهزة الأمنية عملية دهم على المجموعة بمرسى الجزيرات بجنوب سواكن ونجحت في القبض على المهاجرين وبينهم «34» سودانياً و«8» نيجيريين و«8» إريتريين بالإضافة لإثيوبي وآخر تشادي. ونجح المهربون في الفرار بالقارب «سنبك» لحظة عملية المداهمة رغم الأعيرة النارية التي أطلقتها قوات المداهمة لتوقيفهم. وأكدت المصادر أن شرطة سواكن اتخذت إجراءات جنائية في مواجهة المقبوض عليهم.
